A wee storm

As many of you might have heard on the news, we had quite the storm last night. It was so big that our neighbors dropped by in the afternoon to say that if our tree happened to fall on their house that we should kindly call them at their cabin. Our tree has been an issue since we moved in. It is a beautiful, huge fir that has had a lot of the lower limbs trimmed and is thus a bit top heavy. I actually hadn't heard the news so I was oblivious to the approaching storm. Uh yeah. So at 0100am the power went out and the wind was blowing so hard that I thought our whole roof (pronounce 'ruff' in these parts of the country) was going to rip off. I got up and looked out side and the top of the tree was doing circles, whipping back and forth and back and forth. I woke Dave up who needless to say was kind of drugged on Nyquil. "Oh we will be fine Wend....Snore snore". I thought about sleeping downstairs but then I remembered that if the tree did indeed fall... we would have no way out. Then again if the tree fell on our bedroom we would be in trouble too. Thankfully, nothing drastic happened other than a lot of lost branches and getting ready for work in the dark. The following pictures are from the King 5 website....so many people were not as lucky as us.

Fender,
Well, it sounds like it might be time to call Grandpa Bob to come by and take out that massive tree!
