Happy New Year! It has been a few weeks since I have posted but I have good excuses...the flu, holidays, work, you know the usual. Nevertheless, I thought I would bring you up to date on our Christmas. While we didn't managed to hang lights outside of the house, (probably a good thing since we may have been one of those families that leaves them up until July), we put up a little tree that barely made it through the season due to a lack of watering from it's owners!!!
Because I was supposed to work on Christmas (this sort of happened since I was sent home after they saw how sick I was), we went up to Richmond and celebrated Christmas dinner a few days early. My mom and dad created Christmas for Dave and I on the 22nd which was very sweet.

We went over to Grandma and Grandpa Puddicombe's house for some hockey and Christmas Pudding (yummy)!!!

It was so great to see everyone in Vancouver, especially Super D! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family.
Back in Seattle we spent the day at Dave's parent's house (after I was picked up from the hospital). Dave and Meredith made brunch while I sat comatose on the couch, eventually retreating to a borrowed bed. Despite my barely there state, it was a really nice day. For some reason we didn't take any pictures of this part of the day...you will just have to imagine.
We headed over to the Malloch's house in the evening for dinner. Dave and I brought a dessert in memory of Grandma Grace. Anyone remember the trifle that she made with an entire bottle of liqueur???? Well we didn't quite re-create this experience but we did make what I called "Trailer Park Trifle". The recipe called for cool whip and pudding but we had to use individually packaged chocolate puddings from the drug store as the grocery store was closed. It was pretty funny.
This is a picture of Dave practicing for daddyhood with Malloch.

I then worked 3 days, after which we travelled back to Canada for New Year's Eve. We had a really nice time eating fondue and playing Cranium. During the day we had the chance to go snow shoeing on Cypress. It was so beautiful. This is my dad demonstrating the good signage on the mountain.

All in all it was a good holiday. We are getting back into the routine of work and play in Seattle. We are currently starting to get the baby room ready for the little one. This has been quite the task as this room has acted as a dumping ground for about a year. This is a picture of yours truly sorting through way too many files.

Dave has been involved in the cleaning process as well. This is him after cleaning out the furnace the other day.

I'll try to keep this site more consitently updated. I know how much I enjoy seeing other people's blogs!!!!!
best wishes for a safe and healthy new year.
