Dave here.
So, at long last, we've made it to labor. The baby is a bit stubborn and I'm writing this from the delivery suite. At the moment, the baby is refusing to exit the premisis. We've coaxed it out with beautiful music, we've tried using gravity. Cervadil, potocin. We've asked nicely, we've begged and pleaded, We've told it its rent was up, we've threatened to send a swat team after it. All to no avail. That said, there is hope. We have a crack team of incredible nurses working on Wendy and they have been incredibly patient, flexible, understanding and helpful. Wendy is currently about three centimeters dilated. Watching her struggle through this has reinforced my love for her. She is doing so well. She has been incredibly strong. We have now been in the hospital over 24 hours, and contractions have been about 2 minutes apart for hours, but she has rarely complained and has become more beautiful by the moment.
We have been extremely lucky to have Wendy's mom, Angela here helping us out in the delivery suite. Angela and I have traded shifts taking care of Wendy, massaging, etc. Nobody is taking Wendy's shift, though. Looks like we're going to be aroung for another night. We will post as soon as there is news. Should be tomorrow some time. Wish us luck!
