Anna reacted to the removal of the cast the same way as when it was placed. She looked down, and made a face that said, "What are you doing?" and looked away. What was most amazing to me was that she started moving her arm all around immediately after the cast was removed. I was worried that she would experience pain from having her arm placed in the same position for so long. The cast came off and Anna moved on to more interesting things like...exploring the doctor's office. Nothing like having a child to remind you to live in the present.
I ashamedly do not have many pictures from the past 12 days. I do have one silly video for your viewing pleasure. Kindly ignore my high pitched tone of voice and bad hair.
In other news, I finished work on Sunday and I am now officially a Graduate Student at the University of Washington. I am equally excited and anxious about the prospects of going to school full-time. I was sad to leave work... a place that had seen me start work as a new nurse in a new country, get engaged, get married, buy a house, become pregnant, have a baby and apply for graduate school. My last day was filled with a mix of emotion. I knew that I never wanted to work in Critical Care for my entire career but there was something about 5 EAST (the name of my unit) that kept pulling me back for more. In some ways I am sad because the likelyhood of me working in that sort of environment again is rare. In other ways I am really excited because there are so many doors that have opened since I made my decision to leave.
We are leaving for a visit to B.C. tommorow and we will be back on Sunday. Stay tuned for pictures from a visit with Grandma and Grandpa Lendrum, G.G. , Auntie Teresa, Auntie Sarah and Cousins Mike and Kate!!!
