A Sad Day

On November 4th, 2008, my beloved Grandma Doris left this world to enter another. She will be so greatly missed. As I write this, with tears in my eyes, I feel so lucky that my daughter had a chance to meet this wonderful woman. Her vitality, intelligence and passion for life were contagious. I have yet to meet another 88 year old woman who spends her time taking Spanish lessons, e-mailing her grandchildren, growing tomato plants from seed in the greenhouse and staying up to date about American and Canadian politics. She was always asking me for good books and loved a good walk outside. I feel so lucky that I had almost 30 years of this great woman in my life. As my uncle said, "death is sad only for the living." I hope that she is enjoying herself on her new journey.

What a wonderful tribute to your Grandma Doris, put so eloquently.
What a lovely photo for Anna to enjoy when she is older too.

Dear Wendy,
What you wrote from your heart is so true about my mother. She was an incredible inspiration for all of us. She taught me never to take health for granted . Enjoy each day and embrace life as she did .I think about her all the time .I really miss her. What eases the loss is having an amazing family and adorable grand children. The circle of life .
