Anna's 3rd Birthday(s)

I am hopeful that Anna will not think that one is entitled to two birthday parties every year as a result of this year's festivities. We started her birthday celebrations with a group birthday party for three of the children in our parenting group- Rosa, Grace and Anna all of whom turned three in the month of May. The party was so much fun; held at the local Gymnastics club the kids spent a hour jumping, swinging and throwing themselves into a pit of foam.

This is Rosa and her dad Cor. Sitting to the right of Rosa is the other birthday girl Grace. We have known and kept in touch with these families since the girls were 6 weeks old-- pretty awesome.

Jillian- who happens to have the same Birthday as Anna

The 'pit of foam'. As evidenced by the sweat on Dylan's back, he was getting a workout too.

This play date happened in between birthday celebrations. Cora and Anna doing something with hats, bathing suits and babies.

On Anna Birthday weekend, we hosted a party at our house. Grandma Angela and Ian made the trip to Seattle to take part in the party.

As my friend Oma aptly name June, "Junuary" the weather was not kind and we had a lot of people in our little house.

I have almost caught up with my postings....it is taking a long time. We just came back from Salt Spring after celebrating our fifth anniversary. I can't say that I have many pictures but I do have a video of Raffi 'live' in Ganges park....I will get there soon.
We are finally enjoying the summer weather. It is hot and we are loving the sun, time off and general pleasant feeling that the summer months bring. I am still in school but I elected to take a break from clinical this quarter. Even though I continue to have a rather busy schedule, I feel like I am on vacation because I am not 'crazy' busy like the past several months. Dave is off of school which is so nice and Anna is absolutely loving her preschool classroom. They are currently out on a field trip to a local park.
I am starting to show that there is a small foreign object inside of my belly. I am 17 weeks and finally feel better. It is true that 2nd trimester is better than the first. The amnesia that accompanies pregnancy continues to make this experience very different from the first time around. Many have asked if we are finding out the sex of this baby. At first, we thought we were going to but I actually really want to wait until the baby decides to show his or her face. I know it is hard to wait but we will know his or her sex for the rest of their life. Maybe we should start an online poll and the winner will get a prize of some sort!
Hope all is well in your world.
Wendy

Can I weigh in on the Poll? I think that life already has too many predictable events. Why not after all the the nausea & other, pregnancy ups and downs, you can have this most wonderful "SURPRISE, like no other you can experience. Just my old fashioned opinion I guess. So why do people need to know what it is?Does it make a difference? You are going to love the baby no matter what it is anyways, right and that is all that really matters! So why not wait! Enjoy the Suprise, you've earned it! Love
