This blogging thing is kind of addictive. I spend my moments biking along the Birke gillman trail hoping for something exciting to happen so I can blog about it. I think I'm missing the point.
Dave (picture above) read the blog yesterday and said..
"Wow Wendy, you are kind of serious".
I reply, "I am a very serious person".
He retorts, "No you are not, you are funny".
I scoff, "I am not funny. You are funny. I am serious. Many people have told me this. Believe me, I am serious".
He replies, "I don't know, I don't think you are that serious but if you want people to think you are so serious, fine. Be serious."
Hmmm.
For this evening I offer a poem from my only poetry book called Good Poems. It is a collection selected by Garrison Keeler. I remember looking through it before we got married, trying to come up with something inspirational for the ceremony. This one didn't make the cut but it made me laugh.
After Forty Years of Marriage, She Tries a New Recipe for Hamburger Hot Dish.

"How did you like it?" she asked.
"It's all right," he said.
"This is the third time I cooked
it this way. Why can't you
ever say if you like something?"
"Well if I didn't like it, I
wouldn't eat it," he said.
"You never can say anything
I cook tastes good."
"I don't know why all the time
you think I have to say it's good.
I eat it, don't I?"
"I don't think you have to say
all the time it's good, but once
in awhile you could say you like it."
"It's all right, " he said.
