I apologize for the delay of this post. We got back from D.C. Monday night after a great 4 days visiting with Dave's sister and brother-in-law along with his parents and other sister and brother-in-law. I do have a new camera but I haven't quite figured out how to work it efficiently yet. Or rather, I know how to take pictures but not neccesarily good pictures. I have also had a few challenges trying to find a quick way to download the digital pictures from the camera's program online. Part of the problem is that since the break in, we have been left with a old and rather slooowwww computer. It is funny how one gets used to the speed of fast computers and one feels like tearing one's hair out when it takes 5 minutes to download a picture. That being said....
Some highlights of the trip were visiting with Dave's family at Sarah and David's new home.

Walking 'the mall' with Dave's parents (this is the area where all of the monuments and free museums are located)

Spending 4 hours at the Holocost Museum which is a sobering but absolutely fabulous exhibit that offers a comprehensive look into this trajedy.

My favorite part of the trip was visiting the Washington Canoe Club. This is where Dave lived for a summer while working as an intern in D.C. It was amazing to see how many friends Dave had from the canoe world that happened to be hanging out at the club that day. Dave had the chance to hop on the water and do a little coaching with some teens. It was truly impressive. I also had the chance to go for a much needed run along the Ptomac (sp?) river. Soooo beautiful and it felt so good to move.
I've tried 4 times to upload the picture of Dave with his friends and it will not work for some reason so you will just have to imagine the smile on his face.
Stay tuned for better photoblogging.
