A day with Malloch

Malloch's Mom and Grandma spent the afternoon at the spa so I got a chance to hang out with him all by myself. We had a lot of fun together once I figured out what we were going to do. It was actually quite humorous...Tory and Alisa left and Malloch and I played for a few minutes then it dawned on me, I had no idea how I was going to entertain this little person for a full 4 hours. After a few minutes came up with the plan of going for a walk. I started walking and thought, heck I should just keep going because he seems pretty happy. So we ended up walking around 3 miles to Greenlake where there is a park. Malloch slept most of the way there and back which was a blessing because a hour in a stroller may have been a bit much for a 4.5 month old. I took him to a park where we tried out the swings. He seemed a bit uncertain at first but eventually kind of liked it (I think).

I found that eating my lunch while entertaining him was a bit difficult...I should have taken a picture of him a WorldWrapps but I was a little pre-occupied with finding object to keep him interested while I snagged a bite of food.
The most challenging task was trying to change his diapers in a bathroom that didn't have a change table. Thank goodness for the portable plastic mats and a little extra counter space. I succesfully changed him out of the old diapers and into the new ones without a glitch, until we realized later on that I had put them on backwards.
It was a wake up call type of day....this is what I'm going to be doing very soon on a daily basis!! It scared me, exhausted me but also made me excited for our growing baby. Hopefully he/she is as good natured as Malloch!

He is so cute and sturdy looking. Keeping babies can be a challenge but it isn't hard with all the gadgets out there nowadays for them. Swimming all the time really tires and massages their little bodies. I know not swimming -- can't help it it cures all !Looks like you and Mallloch had a great time.
