Dave here reporting as a stunt double for Wendy.
My sister Sarah and her husband David expanded their family by one this week with the new addition to the Fort clan: Zev Michel Fort. I have affectionely been calling him Mike Z for short. I'm keeping that to myself, though. Sarah had an extremely quick but very challenging delivery. She went from 0 centimeters dilated to delivery in 3 hours!!! This caused a tremendous amount of pain and blood loss for her. That said, Zev came out as a happy and healthy (if slightly jaundiced) little boy. He was 6 pounds, 11 ounces at delivery.
I am taking off to go visit the family in Washington DC and enjoy my first briss (other than my own)! I hope that it isn't as painful for Zev as it would seem to be to me. Fortunately for him, he won't be able to remember this time in his life, so hopefully the memory will fade quickly. Good luck, Zev! Please don't miss, rabbi!
While I'm away in Washington, Wendy will be visiting David, Teresa, Mike and Kate. Pretty exciting times for all of us! We now are at t minus 6 weeks until our own baby arrives. Is it just me or is there a baby boom going on?
